The new Mentoring in Economics Program (ME) is looking to hire student mentors for the 2021-2022 academic school year! As a mentor, you will provide both academic and personal guidance to several Economics 1 students. The goal of the program is to create a community within the Economics Department by assisting underrepresented students with any and all challenges, whether it be difficult courses, personal growth, job recruitment, etc.
Training for the mentorship program will occur during the remainder of Fall Quarter and mentorship will officially begin in Winter Quarter. The hired mentors will be selected from declared Economics and Economics & Accounting majors. Additionally, mentors will be paid a quarterly stipend of $200. For students in the honors program, you will also have the option of receiving community service hours instead to help fulfill your honors requirements.
The application is due Sunday, October 3rd at 11:59 PM PST and can be accessed via this link or QR code in the attached pdf. We look forward to hearing from all of you soon!
