They are looking primarily for women and diverse candidates who are interested in baseball operations – Salary Arbitration and Economics, Research & Development, Scouting and Player Development. The majors they are targeting include business, economics, statistics, and CS. Undergraduates as well as graduates can apply. The deadline is January 31.
The attached flyer has all the information and the link to apply.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide in getting the opportunity in front of students.
Forwarded message: Each year, MLB sponsors a group of students to attend this conference to network and get a better understanding of how data analytics impacts the game specifically in baseball operations. While the conference itself is open to all, this specific opportunity to attend through MLB is in support of our continued efforts to diversify our workforce which includes providing outlets and experiences for diverse talent.
Attached you’ll find an invitation letter with link to apply. This is for women and people of a diverse background, so please feel free to share accordingly and as you see fit. The application closes January 31 but it’s highly recommended interested candidates apply sooner rather than later.
2020 SABR Analytics Conference (Phoenix, AZ, March 13-15, 2020)
For the fourth consecutive year MLB will be sponsoring students to attend the SABR Analytics Conference (March 13-15 in Phoenix). It is a life changing experience for many to attend by getting in front of executives and gaining knowledge of how analytics plays a role throughout baseball. We had a great group of 24 attendees last year and they were given access to three front offices during Spring Training and were able to network with over 60+ club executives. The application deadline is January 31, 2020. Although we have a January 31st deadline, we are reviewing applications as they come in hopes of communicating with selected candidates to give them plenty of lead time to make logistical preparations to attend the conference.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Looking forward to receiving applications from students on your campus.
