“The UCSB Economic Forecast Project is looking to hire 2 interns for the 2014-2015 academic year. Interns will work under Professor Peter Rupert and leading PhD candidates in the economics department. The internship is paid, but can also fulfill elective-, honors-, and unit-requirements.
About the EFP: The Economic Forecast Project was established in 1981 by the Department of Economics at UC Santa Barbara to provide the community with information on economic, demographic, and regional business trends in the Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura County areas. Our primary research activity is the collection and verification of statistical data and other evidence about the changing business and economic environment in our county. From the assessment of these data, the Economic Forecast Project monitors the status of the economy and provides projections of future economic activity in the local area.
Candidates for this internship must meet the following requirements:
• Economics or Economics & Accounting major (pre-majors may apply)
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel (advanced preferred)
