Both the UCSB Washington Center (UCDC) and the UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) Program provide a unique experiential learning opportunity for upper-division students. These programs combine an internship and research, and offer students the opportunity to observe public policy processes firsthand and to gain a wide variety of cultural experiences.
Designed for juniors and seniors, these programs assume students have completed a significant part of their upper-division major coursework, and that their internships and research projects will serve to enhance their academic study. Students in all majors and colleges are encouraged to apply!
During the quarter in Washington or Sacramento, students maintain UC enrollment and receive 12 units of academic credit for working in an internship with an agency or organization of their choice and for enrolling in a seminar. Both of these programs are offered every quarter, including summer. Please note that the Sacramento program has a unique and fabulous journalism program every summer taught in conjunction with the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
October 24th is the Winter quarter deadline for the Sacramento program and the Spring quarter deadline for the Washington program.
Informational meetings will be held in North Hall 2105 on Tuesday, October 11th at 5pm and Wednesday, October 19th at 2pm.
