Would you like to spend this coming fall quarter working and studying in Washington, D.C.? Regardless of your political interests or party affiliation, Washington is THE place to be this fall. This fall could be the most exciting time to be living and working in Washington DC – and you don’t want to miss out! You can have a valuable and challenging academic experience, combining a professional internship with an educational experience. The UCDC program enables you to earn 12 units of academic credit and maintain your UCSB enrollment at the same time you’re working and spending a quarter in one of the world’s greatest cities!
If this sounds interesting, then you should seriously consider the UCSB Washington Center (UCDC) program this fall. This residential program is open to students in all majors. Internships do not have to be political in nature; you can choose an internship in business, environmental affairs, international or public relations, a women’s or children’s agency, an art gallery or museum, an organization dealing with health and human services, or prepare yourself for a career in law – or something else!. Students maintain their enrollment status at UCSB while living and working in the nation’s capital for the quarter. If you receive financial aid, you’ll be eligible for supplemental financial aid.
Those who’ve attended this program rate it as one of their most valuable experiences as an undergraduate. UCDC places students right in the middle of a dynamic, fast paced city, surrounded by history and alive with culture, providing them with a multi-dimensional educational experience. The program also allows students to undertake cultural and social activities on the eastern seaboard while participating in an 11 week academic program.
Please let us know if you have any interest in this program, as space is limited and the April 7th deadline is quickly approaching. Application instructions are available from the UCDC website at <www.advising.ltsc.ucsb.edu>. Internship information is also available on-line.
