DesignShift – Integrated Design Charrette at UCSB

The UCSB Sustainability Programa is partnering with Southern California Edison and Energy Design Resources to host an Integrated Design Charrette (interactive workshop) on October 21st and 22nd,  2011 called “DesignShift”.

You are invited to join us for this exciting opportunity to:

  • Partner with Development, Design, Engineering, and Green Building Professionals to create a Green Building Design in just two days;
  • Learn how to use a series of methods and tools for energy efficient green building design (free to download after the charrette);
  • Collaborate with Architecture students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and students from several different majors at UCSB; and
  • Have an opportunity to win a free IPad2 (if you win the design competition embedded in the workshop).

If you attend, you will work collaboratively in teams of five to create a zero-net energy building and quantify its energy savings.  Participating in this charrette qualifies each team to enter a design competition. Each member of the winning team will receive an iPad2!

Eligibility: This event is open to 3rd-5th yr students (any major) and Masters Students Only. The event is fully funded by Energy Design Resources (EDR) and by Southern California Edison.   There is no registration cost for students to participate.   Students must commit to attend the full workshop on both days.  October 21st 2pm-8pm and October 22nd 9am-6pm.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Please register at: http://bit.ly/n5uYCA
